About Bernie’s Affordable Tires

Bernie’s Affordable Tires is a tire shop in North Charleston, South Carolina. It is listed at 3915 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29405, which places it among the local businesses of North Charleston that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Google also lists it under used tire shop, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

Tire shops sell and install new tires, patch punctures, balance wheels and, at most locations, align the suspension. Prices are quoted per tire plus mounting, balancing, valve stems and a state disposal fee for the old set; many shops price-match and include free rotation and flat repair for the life of the tire. Used tire shops sell inspected take-offs for a fraction of the price of new ones, useful for an older car or a single replacement, but check the tread depth (4/32 inch or more) and the DOT date code, since rubber ages even on the shelf. Mobile tire services come to your driveway or the roadside, commercial shops handle semi, trailer, farm and off-road tires, and wheel shops repair and refinish bent or curb-scraped rims.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–7 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Bernie’s Affordable Tires at (843) 304-2590; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 485 reviews, which is a strong result for a tire shop in North Charleston and suggests consistent service.

North Charleston is in South Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around North Charleston is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across South Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I was looking for an affordable place to replace my flat tire and found Bernie’s. They replaced not one but two of my tires and they did it within 30 minutes. The next day my tire went flat again, so I brought my car back and turns out my rim was cracked and needed to get it welded. Bernie’s checked it out and even repaired my rim and I was out of there in less than an hour. Everyone working there was so kind and helpful and I will ABSOLUTELY be coming back. Great experience and thank you guys for your help.

I highly recommend this tire shop for their exceptional customer service. I recently had a flat tire with sidewall damage that could not be repaired, so I decided to buy a used tire from them. In a stroke of terrible luck, I ended up getting another flat on that exact same replacement tire. The shop handled the situation perfectly by sending me a picture of the new puncture to show me exactly what happened. The good news was that this new damage could actually be fixed, and they ended up repairing it for me completely free of charge. They turned a frustrating day into a great experience, and I cannot recommend them enough.

I went to Bernies for my first time yesterday to get a used tire for a tire that had a consistent slow leak. They ended up up selling me 4 of the same style used tires at a slight discount at $200 for 4, rather than $65 each. I at first thought I was getting a good deal. I asked if they could put the best of my original tires on the rim of my spare because my spare was very old. They wanted to charge me an additional $35 to swap the spare tires. I told them I have a friend who owns a tire shop and he would swap them out for me for free. When I pulled out of the shop I was happy, the sound of the tires reminded me of my first truck with similar tires as a kid. Well, I'm at my friend's tire shop swapping the tires, and I proudly pointed out the tires the guys at Bernies sold me... as he ran his hand over the tire he told me I definitely shouldn't have purchased them no matter what the price was. He explained to me how they're very old tires (6 yrs) by pointing out stress cracks throughout them. He said, "When tires like these come through my shop, I don't resell them. I throw them away". Bottom line, don't trust these folks, no matter what the reviews say. (Below was added af

DO NOT USE A CARD HERE‼️‼️‼️‼️ USE CASH! I went to this place yesterday morning and used a Cash App card. Only because I didn’t wanna use my actual bank card! Brought one tire… the tall black dude took my card to the back ( out of sight) to swipe it…. An hour later I received a transaction for $65… someone got into my account, then tried to transfer money from my bank to the Cash App card! Thank God my bank card was locked! Be aware yall!!! Below is a photo! This has never happened to me and I’ve been using this same card and account since 2018…. Took them about an hour to access my info
